Isolating Enclosures

Overview

The AEK acoustic hood isolates the MP II probing heads from acoustic noise and environmental variation to optimize system performance.

Nanoprobing requires precision probe placement unhampered by ongoing environmental conditions in the FA lab. With all the environmental isolation upgrades, the AFP II Nanoprober will show a noise floor better than 2nm. A locking clamshell mechanism raises above the operator’s head for full access to the entire AFP II system. The enclosure dramatically improves stability of the system by shielding against room breezes and sudden temperature changes. The AEK complements the dampening capabilities of the TS140 active vibration isolation table.
